Participating at the ECONOMICON Congress can be acomplished by conducting the following steps:

  1. Receive/answer the ECONOMICON Call for Abstracts (CAB) – usually received by our participants monthly, on their e-mail address directly, instructing them to submit an Abstract for Congress Participation and to register for the Congress (usually received at the begining and/or middle of every month).
    – Participants who don’t receive this CAB regularly, but can still submit their Abstract for Congress Participation, can do so by following our monthly Abstract Submission Deadlines, noted in our news ticker, placed at the top of our web-page.
    –  Participants who want to receive this CAB regularly, can sign-up to receive the call, located at the footer of our web-page.
  2. Submit an Abstract – after receiving the CAB, participants can submit their Abstract for Congress Participation, following the Abstract Guideliness for Submission, receive their Abstract Summary Review (and conduct corrections if necessary), and receive approval for a completed Abstract submission.
    – The more the submissions are in line with the Guideliness, the quicker the Reviews are processed, and the fewer the corrections required.
  3. Proceed to Congress Registration and Payment – after completing the Abstract submission step, Authors will be asked to proceed with registration for the Congress, and conduct payment.
  4. Accomodation and Transport – each participant arranges their own accomodation and transportation, although we offer alternatives to make the process easier for newcomers. Participants can also asked to be accomodated in the hotel venue itself (although the prices may be higher than other accomodations in the city of Ohrid).
  5. Submit Full Paper and/or Presentation – following payment, participants can proceed with the delivery of their Full Paper and/or Presentation, and follow the same approval process as with the Abstract Submission step.

Full Congress participation can be completed anywhere from 15 to 25+ days, depending on the participant’s promptness.

Registration and initial Abstract Submission for Authors are free of charge, with payment only required when their submitted Abstract is accepted for the ECONOMICON Congress.
    – For Listeners-only, payment is required in the range of 2 weeks following registration, as Listeners are not a part of the ECONOMICON Submission Process.
  • When arriving at the congress on their participation day(s), participants will need to check in at the Congress Info. Desk to receive their congress packet materials (with Lunch and Social Event Cards) and their ID card with which they are granted access to the congress & networking sessions, and coffee and lunch breaks.
  • Those who would like can view the Full Congress Participation Process, and get a sense of how each Congress Day, and Social Event, unfolds, step-by-step.
  • Upon registration, only the corresponding author needs to register for the congress. The Congress does not charge for participation per co-author of an Abstract or Full Paper, but rather per participant present. Only the person who will be present at the congress should register as a participant at the congress.
  • Authors can also register other individuals who will attend the Congress with them (such as co-authors, family, friends, colleagues, etc.) in their initial Congress Registration Form, but only if those attendants participate in the form of Listeners-only at the Congress (the ‘Listener Registration Fee’ still applies per every registered participant).
  • Only Authors need to register individually, to properly be guided through the ECONOMICON Submission Process, step-by-step.
  • Individuals who have not paid their Congress Participation Fee will NOT BE ALLOWED entrance at the congress, regardless if they are family, friends, or colleagues of an attending participant, and/or if they plan on staying just for a singular session or presentation.
  • The Congress Venue also provides many areas in which participants who do not attend the congress can spend their time, such as the restaurant, the coffee area, the outside terraces, and other alternatives.
  • Alternatively, impromptu participants will be able to enter the Congress if they pay the Listener Registration Fee in full at the Congress Info. Desk, in cash. They will be provided a Guest ID Card with which can attend the Congress Sessions.
  • Participants can register during the Early-Bird period (September-December), the Standard (January-March), or the Late (April-May) period, and receive various discounts depending on the period when registration was conducted, and payment facilitated (as detailed in the Fees & Payment Table).
  • Discounts are also available for current Students, and Listeners-only (with an additional small discount if the Listeners are participant’s co-authors or family members).
  • Specific information on all discounts and forms of payment can be viewed in detail at the ‘Fees & Payment‘ tab, located in the ‘Congress Info.’ tab.
  • The Congress does not offer free entrance of any kind, and individuals who have not registered, or been registered, for the Congress, and conducted payment, will not be permitted access to the Congress sessions or breaks.
  • To attend, such participants must cover our “Listener-only” fee, which can be viewed in detail at the ‘Fees & Payment‘ tab.
  • Participants whose institution, organization, or project requires them to conduct registration and/or payment for participation at the Congress at a certain period can resolve the issue in several ways:

1.) Before the End of the Calendar Year* – If the participant is required, wants, or needs to spend funds from an institution, organization, or project before the end of the year, they can register for the congress and conduct payment, even before submitting an Abstract, but will need to do several things during this period:
I.) First, the participant is asked to specify their situation in the ‘Comment or Message’ field upon filling out the ‘Congress Registration Form‘ (at the bottom). Then, in the following days, the participant will be sent an Invoice by the Congress Financial Department, following their registration specifics and preferences, which they can pay and send confirmation of payment to info@key.com.mk.
II.) Second, following the sent confirmation of payment, the Author will then need to submit their submissions for Congress participation in a reasonable period (which can also be specified in their message upon registration), starting with the ‘Abstract Submission‘. The whole submission process is usually completed swiftly and without any issues, and should the Author follow their Submission Steps properly, their submissions will face no issues in regard to acceptance.

2.) Entering New Calendar Year (or at any time)* – If a participant wants to participate in any form at the congress, at any time, but cannot conduct payment due to restrictions, requirements, or allowance for utilizing funds during set by their organization, institution or project, at a certain period, they can still proceed with the Registration and Submission process as usual, but will need to do several things before that:
I.) First, during their registration, they will need to specify their current situation in the ‘Comment or Message’ field upon filling out the ‘Congress Registration Form‘ (at the bottom). Here, they will also need to indicate the approximate date when payment can be expected to be conducted, and by whom, for easier future cross-referencing.
II.) Second, the participant will need to send an official, signed, and stamped document from the organization, institution, or project, confirming that payment will be conducted at, or by, a certain date, and before the 10th of May, directly to info@key.com.mk, for the Submission Process to be initiated.
    – Document: That document will serve as an obligation of payment from the organization, institution, or project, for the named participant(s), and should payment not be fulfilled by the set deadline, Congress reserves the right to rescind the participant’s Registration and Submission(s).
III.) Third, upon obtaining the document that confirms future payment for Congress Participation, the participant can start their submission process by, submitting their Abstract to the Congress Editorial Team, via the ‘Abstract Submission Form‘, while also sending the future payment document, in parallel, to info@key.com.mk, so that the Editorial Team can receive the submission, and approval, at the same time, to proceed straight away with the Abstract Review Process.
    – Payment: finally, following payment at the specified date with the future payment document, a confirmation of payment document will have to be sent to info@key.com.mk directly, as no participant can attend the Congress without confirmed payment.

RECOMMENDATION*: Still, wherever and whenever possible, to avoid this prolonged administrative process, participants are encouraged to pay the participation fee themselves during their Congress Registration and Submission Process, and be provided with official Congress documents (see below) that the participant can provide to their organization, institution, or project, to receive reimbursement at a future date.

*Participants can ask to receive an Official Invitation Letter from the Congress President, and a Submission Acceptance Letter (following the completion of the Abstract Submission Step) from the Congress Organizational Team (by contacting info@key.com.mk) as proof of participating at the Congress, in a bid to ease the facilitation of requesting payment or receiving reimbursement for conducting personal payment for Congress Participation.

  • Individuals interested in participating in Congress can start their process by submitting an abstract via the Abstract Submission Form. This can be accessed by the website itself, or via the monthly Call for Abstracts which arrives at every Author’s e-mail address, that is registered to receive this Call.
    – For those who want to register to receive this Call on a monthly basis, can do so by submitting their e-mail address at the Footer of the webpage below, in the field “Call for Abstracts”.
  • Authors can submit Abstracts at any time but are encouraged to register to receive the Call for Abstracts via e-mail, to stay updated on potential discounts and benefits that arise during the congress registration and submission periods.
  • Detailed submission info. for completing the submission process is available on the Congress website under the ‘Submission Process tab, detailing each Submission Step in full, and providing relevant forms for submission, as well as projected timelines for each submission step, from start to completion.

Each participant receives these print materials upon Congress Registration, and the same ones are available in electronic form, per request.

  • No, once an abstract is accepted, and payment is facilitated, the full paper, and/or presentation, is not in danger of not being accepted, provided the corresponding author continues communication with the Congress Editorial Team in conducting the necessary corrections for completing the Full Paper and/or Presentation Submission Process.
  • Oral presentations typically should range around 15 minutes, while Poster presentations, and their evaluation, are usually conducted following the short break between congress sessions, so authors can provide additional information to the evaluation committee.
  • You can also check out the detailed guidelines here for the: Oral Presentation and Poster Presentations.
  • The Congress recognizes awards for the 3 best posters submitted and presented at the congress. The posters are evaluated by a 3-member Scientific Committee during each congress day, and the best 3 posters are awarded on the closing day of the Congress.
  • The Congress fees usually vary from 300 to 400€, depending on Participant Status (Standard, Student, Listener), Congress Days Attended (1, 2, or 3 days), and Registration Period (Early, Standard, Late).
  • The full Participation Fees Table for the Congress can be found by accessing the ‘Fees & Payment‘ sub-tab, located under the Congress Info. tab, in the main menu.
  • For a registered author, payment does not vary per the number of co-authors of a submitted Abstract/Manuscript, but only per participant present at the Congress itself.
  • Payment for Congress participation is enabled via two available methods of payment:

    – BANK TRANSFER PAYMENT (an Invoice will be created and sent to the Registered Participant via their Congress Registration Specifics)
    – E-SHOP PAYMENT (can be facilitated by accessing the Congresses’ e-shop, by clicking on the ‘Enter e-shop‘ button)

  • The Invoice information is usually provided by the participants upon their Congress Registration, as participants are given the option to specify select information they wish to be placed on the Invoice itself, depending on personal preferences or  potential Organization/Institution requirements.
  • Payment for Authors is only required following their abstract acceptance for the congress, as their initial ECONOMICON Participation Registration and Abstract Submission steps are free-of-charge.
    –  This is usually around 1-2 weeks following registration, should the author completes their necessary Abstract Review corrections, following initial submission, and thus timely completing their Abstract Submission Step.
  • Only participants registered as Listeners-only and Sponsors/Exhibitors are asked to proceed with payment following congress registration, as they do not adhere to the NUTRICON Submission Process.
  • From the day of receiving their Invoice, participants have a time frame of 14 days in which to conduct payment.
    – For Registered Authors this is initiated following receiving their e-mail confirmation of a successfully completed their Abstract Submission Step.
